PENNSYLVANIA STEEL ANNOUNCES PLANS TO EXPAND IN NAUGATUCK

January 9, 2008

The Pennsylvania Steel Company has announced plans to purchase a 22.6 acre site on Great Hill Road in the Naugatuck Industrial Park. The company, headquartered in Bensalem, PA, originally started operation in 35,000 sq. ft. of leased space in the Industrial Park in July 2005 with a staff of 8. The company, a distributor of steel, aluminum and other metals, plans to build a 70,000 sq. ft. facility to accommodate the expansion of their business to allow for continued future growth. The company received Zoning Commission approval in December 2007 to construct the $4 million facility. They will house their current staff of 20 employees and plan to expand employment to 25 staff members when the expansion is completed, which is tentatively scheduled for late Fall of 2008.
